Cherokee is a small community place located in the Counties of Swain and Jackson in the western part of North Carolina state. It falls within the area of Qualla Boundary land trust. Cherokee has a total area of about 31.3 sq. kms. and is elevated by about 1990 ft above the sea level. Some of the prominent business and economic ventures that help in the growth and development of the local economy mainly consisit of ambulance services, art dealers and galleries, auto transportation and maintenance facilities, cable television companies, real estate agencies, building material suppliers, bakeries, auto renting and leasing services, bridal shops, boat equipment and supply, catering ventures, trucking companies, counselling services and many other similar business ventures.
