Chipley covers a total area of about 10.8 sq. kms. and is elevated from the sea level by about 120 ft. Chipley is located in the County of Washington in Florida. The city also serves as the county seat. Chipley city was named after W.D. Chipley, a Florida railroad businessman. Tourism is one of the most important part of the local economy. Some of the important tourist destinations in the city are the Chipley city hall, Spanish Trail Playhouse, Falling Waters State Park etc. Other economic activities are also closely related with the tourism sector. Some of them are car hiring facilities, hotels and restaurants, bars, money exchange facilities, ground and lawn maintenance facilities. There is also a local Post office in the area.
