What Is: Homeopathic Servces?
Homeopathic practitioners treat their patients with highly diluted preparations comprised of herbs, minerals or animal products called tinctures. Commonly known as homeopathic remedies, these tinctures are intended to stimulate the body's natural healing abilities. Homeopaths believe that all physical disease has mental and emotional, as well as physical, components, and they tailor each remedy to the specific patient's constitution. Because of this, different patients with the same malady may receive entirely different homeopathic treatments. Although scientific evidence regarding the efficacy of homeopathy is mixed, its popularity is increasing, as are the number of medical doctors who also practice homeopathy. Most states require that homeopathic practitioners be licensed healthcare providers, and insurance companies are most likely to cover homeopathic treatments when the provider is a licensed professional such as an MD or a DO.
