Ferndale serves as the gateway to the Lost Coast of California. It is a city in the Humboldt County in California, located near the mouth of the River Eel and the Coast Redwood forests.

With an area of little more than a square mile, the city has about 1371 people living in it, as per the 2010 Census. The city is known for its several Victorian homes and storefronts.

The local livelihood depends on dairy farming, ranching, a bit of agriculture, retail business and the service sector. The beautiful small city which is registered as a California Historical Landmark also attracts visitors from neighboring places. There are several historic buildings, parks, museums, cemetery, churches and the Humboldt County Fairgrounds that are popular city attractions.
