There are a number of schools and health care facilities in the area which employ a lot of the local population. Transportation and tourism are some of the local economic activities of the region. There is also an airport at Gulkana, located about 4.4 miles northest of the small community town of Glennallen. There are a number of parks and recreation facilities in the area which helps in the growth of the tourism industry in the region.</p>
