Gustavus is a second-class city in Hoonah-Angoon Census Area in Alaska. It is often called the gateway to Glacier Bay National Park which surrounded the three sides of the peninsula with mountains and icefields. Formerly known as "Strawberry Point", Gustavus is approximately 48 air miles of Alaska's State Capitol to the west and Juneau is in southeast Alaska. Bartlett Cove is just 9 miles from central Gustavus. As of 2010 census, Gustavus had a total population of 442 people. The population density was 7.54/sq mi. Zip code is 99826.
