About Us

Whether it’s surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome or treatment for arthritis, patients want an orthopedic surgeon who has proven experience and know-how. Harvey Manes, MD is that doctor. Dr. Manes was the United States’ youngest Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon when he started his practice in Long Island. Since then, he has built a reputation of kindness and expertise at his Lindenhurst, New York office.
Dr. Manes works to reduce the need for surgery and prescription medication when it comes to issues of the musculoskeletal system, combining both traditional orthopedic practices and innovative techniques. His office provides patients with exercise equipment, whirlpool access, ultrasounds, a hot wax machine, and more.
Dr. Manes earned his medical degree from Downstate Medical School in 1972 and then completed his residency at Kings County Hospital, where he was named Chief Resident in 1976. He became a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon in 1977. He established his practice in the Long Island area, where he has happily served patients for the last 40 years.
He’s currently a member of the American College of Sports Medicine, the Society of Orthopedic Surgeons, and FICS (Fellow of the International College of Surgeons). He has given numerous presentations and has written publications for a variety of medical journals, including Orthopedics, Newsday, and Clinical Orthopedics. He’s also published a book titled Dr. Manes’s E-Z Pain Relief Guide for Baby Boomers. View Dr. Manes' entire CV here.
Beyond his orthopedic surgery practice, Dr. Manes has created his own product, Dr. Manes’s Herbal Motion Pain Relief Cream. The only pain relief cream on the market developed by an orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Manes' Herbal Motion Pain Relief Cream is the strongest available without a prescription.
