Compared to many other engineering fields, Biomedical Engineering has recently flourished in Medley and it has also got a very good response across the globe. It is influenced by and overlapped with various other engineering and medical fields. There are many subfields under Biomedical Engineering, such as, Biomechanics, Clinical engineering, Biomaterials, Rehabilitation engineering, Bioinstrumentation, Bio-mechatronics, Bionics, Neural engineering, Bio-nanotechnology, etc. It is very difficult for a biomedical engineer to focus on a particular field or a particular group of subfields. Regulatory issues are of actual concern to a biomedical engineer in Medley. This is among the most heavily-regulated grounds of engineering. The apprentice or the practicing biomedical engineer must consistently consult and work together with regulatory law attorneys and other specialists. Similar to the other academic professions, each country has certain requirements for becoming licensed and registered professional engineer. However, in practice, such a license is not essential to practice in majority of the situations. This is particularly not the case in alot of countries, where a license is as legally essential to practice engineering as it is for law or medicine.
