Health & diet foods, in Mount Ida, refer to the foods or beverages prepared in a way that help a certain part of the body either to lose or to gain body mass. The modifications in the preparation method include: use of a low-calorie substitute instead of a high-calorie ingredient, baking instead of frying, addition of reduced-calorie ingredients, such as resistant starch or dietary fiber, to replace part of the flour. However, these health & diet foods have a lot of controversies regarding their usage. The most significant of such controversies are regarding the safety of using sugar substitutes that are used to replace sugar and the excessive use of digestible sugar or any macronutrient that would be stored in the body as fat.
