Goaltenders may additionally use different gears, neck guards, chest/arm protectors, blockers, catch gloves, and leg pads.

    Ice hockey in Philadelphia is played on ahockey rink, involving six players, including goaltender, per side on the ice at any time, each of whom wearsice skates. The basic rule of the game is to scoregoalsby shooting a hardvulcanizedrubberdisc, called thepuck, into the opponent's goal net placed at the opposite end of the rink. The puck may be controlled by the players using a longstickwith a blade, usually curved at one end.

    Players are not allowed to hold the puck in their hand pass it to their teammates using their hands or to kick the puck into the opponent’s goal, unless they are in the defensive zone.
