Ramer is an unincorporated community located in South-central Alabama, United States. It is within Montgomery County, approximately 23.9 miles from the city. Ramer has an elevation of 469 feet. Once they called it Athens and later change to Ramer due to Athens had been already name taken by a city in Alabama. The name Ramer is derivation of a nearby creek in the area. A post office was built in 1851. Cleveland Indians ex outfielder Joe Caffie is a local resident of Ramer.
