Roanoke is a city located in the Piedmont region of eastern Alabama in between Birmingham and Atlanta Georgia. It is part of Randolph County at 33°8′56″N 85°22′11″W. Roanoke has an elevation of 840 feet. The city has three schools namely Knight Enloe Elementary, Handley Middle School, and Handley High School. At 2014 census data Roanoke has 5,970 total population. Since 2000, it had decreased by -9.0 percent. Formerly called High Pine and Chulafinee before it was renamed by early settlers hometown Roanoke, Virginia. Roanoke was became incorporated in December 1890. Zip code is 36274.
