One or more Pentecostal churches are located in Rome. Pentecostalism is a movement within Christianity that places empahsis on directly experiencing the grace of God via the baptism in the Holy Spirit. This is a renewal movement, which is an umbrella term for many different cultures, practices and theologies. No single church directs the movement, though many denominations are affiliated with the Pentecostal World Conference. Naturally, Spirit baptism is the most imporant ritual in this movement, but there are a number of other rites and rituals, such as baptism, anointing with oil for installation for ordination, healing or foot-washing . Healing rites are especially significant. The churches conduct these rituals and services, sometimes during specific dates of the year.
