Rutledge is a town in the U.S. state of Alabama. It lies at the center of Crenshaw County with a total area of 5.9 square miles, all land. Elevation of Rutledge is 344 feet at 31°43′59″N 86°18′35″W. On June 10, 1867, the town formerly called Barbers Cross Roads and Crenshaw was then changed its name to Rutledge in honor of Captain Henry Rutledge.
