Springville was formerly called Big Springs which derived from a spring as the primary source of drinking water in this area. The historic city became incorporated in 1880. Throughout the years, previous local leaders changed the name from Big Springs to Springville. The Chamber of Commerce is providing many job opportunities to those citizens willing to get involved in annual events and activities held in the area.
