Talladega is a city located in the U.S. state of Alabama. It is the county seat of Talladega County nestled 50 miles east of Birmingham. Talladega total area is approximately 24.1 square miles at 33°26′5″N 86°6′5″W. An elevation of 558 feet above sea level. Talladega derived its name from a  Muscogee (Creek) Native American word Tvlvtēke, a combined word of "town" and "border". It is home to the J. L. M. Curry House and Swayne Hall which are both listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A former U.S. Representative Taul Bradford was from Talladega. On the recent census data, Talladega has a total population of 15,451 people with a population density of 605.83/sq mi. Zip codes are 35160-35161.
