The term 'Spa' is derived from the name of the town Spa in Belgium and is associated with water treatment. In earlier days, it was believed that bathing in hot or cold springs could cure various ailments and was also known as medicinal bathing. But after the American Revolution, the spa industry began to gain popularity.
