Walnut Grove is a town located in the U.S. state of Alabama. It lies in Etowah County included on the Gadsden Metropolitan Statistical Area. Walnut Grove is surrounded by Altoona to the south and Blount County to the west. In 1813, the town was settled by Battles family. Originally known as "Thomas Crossroads" and "Cornelius" before it was renamed, Walnut Grove in 1849. It was incorporated in 1886. The elevation of Walnut Grove is 863 feet.
