Winfield is the second largest city in Marion County in Alabama, USA. It is within both Marion and Fayette counties about 26 miles of the Mississippi state line to the east. The total area is 17.3 square miles at 33°55′42″N 87°48′29″W. Elevation is 476 feet above sea level. Originally known as "Needmore" which by then became incorporated in either 1887 or 1891 before the name changed to Winfield in tribute to General Winfield Scott.
