Woodville is a town located in the U.S. state of Alabama. It lies in Jackson County along State Route 35 and U.S. Route 72 that intersects SR 35 of Woodville to the south, Scottsboro to the east and Huntsville to the west. In 1815, the town was settled by Henry Derrick. Woodville once a county seat of  Decatur County, Alabama in 1921 of December. The elevation of Woodville is 620 feet above sea level. Woodville had lost its charter in 1897 but became reincorporated in 1912. On 2010 census, Woodville total population was 746. It had a population density of 110.24/sq mi.
