Allakaket is a second class city in the unorganized borough of the Koyukuk-Yukon Census Area. It is located in the recording district of Fairbanks. Allakaket is just on the south bank of river Koyukuk. This is almost at the southwest junction of river Atlanta. Infrastructure is being thoroughly revised after they were completely damaged by the floods of 1994. Allakaket is being classified as an isolated village. Most of the economic activities in the region are seasonal in nature, particularly during the summer. Year long employment option is only available in school and corporation village store. Other sources of income is possible through handicrafts and fishing. River transportation is possible only in the summer months, while the airport with a 4000ft runway gives year round transportation links.
