Double Springs is a town in and the couty seat of Winston County, Alabama. It has a total area of 3.9 square miles, all of which is land.
Manufacturing, construction, retail trade and educational services are the major economic activites of the town. Public schooling is handled by the Winston County School System, which has its main office here. The Winston County High School and Winston County Technical Center are located here, along with one elementary and one middle school. The town falls within the William B. Bankhead National Forest. The Lewis Smith Lake is located close to Double Springs. Double Springs' cost of living is 17.30% lower than the country average, making living here significantly cheaper. The closest hospital is the Lakeland Community Hospital, located about 13 miles away in Haleyville. The local airport is the Double Springs-Winston County Airport.
