Eufaula is a city in Barbour County, Alabama. It is part of the Eufaula Metro Area, and it has a total area of 73.5 square miles. 59.4 square miles of the area is land, and the rest is water. The city sits on a reservoir locally known as Eufaula, otherwise called the Walter F. George Lake. Settled in 1816, it was incorporated in 1843.
Tourism, light manufacturing, industry, service and agriculture (notably peanut and cotton) are the major contributors to the local economy. Tourism is centered around the lake. A number of buildings in the city are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Manufacturing involves building materials and auto parts.
